Piesaule was established in the early 1950's by the patrons of the Latvian Lutheran Church of Boston as a summer church camp.  Initially, there was the main house and the barn.  A chapel was built for Sunday Services.

As interest in the camp grew, so did Piesaule.  Girls and Boys Cabins were built.  Parents of the camp goers built summer cottages to ease commuting between the city and the camp.  A man-made pond was created from an area where several natural streams crossed.

Piesaule is now home to several year-round residents as well as a summer home for the new members of the church.  Many of the cottages have been passed along to younger generations of the original families.
